A voluntary position, working online, from home, on a flexible hours basis. We are looking for a reliable person to join our friendly team of Overlooked Cats Administrators. You will be helping the most overlooked cats, currently in rescue shelters, find loving homes...
If you love cats and want to help them, volunteering at home, this could be just the job for you:
Job Outline
You will be assisting cat rescue shelters throughout the UK and Ireland, by posting details and photos of their hardest to home cats on the ‘Overlooked’ section of the Cat Chat website. The text you write for each cat will be in the first person, as though the cat is writing their own appeal for a home. Everything is done through your regular browser so no website-building knowledge is needed. This role has great job satisfaction when one of ‘your’ Overlooked Cats gets homed as a result of your work!
Requirements
Applicants must be fully competent at preparing images for the web, ie: cropping, resizing, improving and optimising images ready for posting online. You will need to have access to an appropriate image programme, (we are unable to supply software, however there are some good, free online image editing tools available if needed). The postholder must have good creative writing skills, an excellent command of English, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and be able to work to deadlines. You will need to be fully computer literate. Experience using a content management system will be an advantage but not essential, as training will be given.
Time Commitment
The Overlooked Cats section fluctuates in demand, but averagely you could be called on to compile an entry every couple of days, or however many you can comfortably cope with. Each entry usually takes around half an hour. Overlooked Cat Administrators need to check into their Cat Chat mailbox daily (or at least every other day) to check for new Overlooked Cat requests. Cats need to be added to the website within three days of the request being made.
Additional Information
Applicants must be 18 or over and resident in the UK or Ireland. Two references will be required from shortlisted applicants. Cat Chat is a friendly, fully inclusive team.
